MUNG'ARO:IT'S NO LONGER BUSINESS AS USUAL AT THE COUNTY,ITS EITHER YOU SHAPE UP OR SHAPE OUT.
Former Governor,Amason Kingi gesturing to Incoming Governor Hon.Gedion Mung'aro to take over the throne after a swearing in process at the Karisa Maitha Ground.

A heavy storm is brewing in Kilifi County between Governor Gedion Mung'aro and a group of businessmen who are baying for his blood for purpoted refusal to pay their pending bills that amount to billions of money that were accrued during the former government of Amason Kingi, who is currently the Senate Speaker of the Republic of Kenya.

The businessmen are accusing the Governor of failing to honour his promise of continuing to  work with them since they are fellow tribesmen and they have a right to work with the government even if they have questionable characters.

However, the Governor has since rubbished their claims and refused to recognise them while pointing out that he established a task force to look into the pending bills issue and to his astonishment majority of the said businessmen are involved in large scale schemes of swindling money from the county coffers.Majority of them have been involved in ghost projects while some have been paid more than three times for a single project, something the Governor has said he cant allow to happen under his watch.

"These people are not businessmen, these are thieves who have stolen alot of money from the people of Kilifi and want to continue with the same games to enrich themselves at the expsense of suffering Kilifians and I cant allow that to happen under my watch because  I  dont have any problems with any businessman as far he is doing genuine business and we are not trying to categorise them whatsoever ,"said the agitated Governor who insists on doing the right thing for the people of Kilifi.

Investigations into the matter show that close to Ksh 800Million of the total pending bills the county has is unpayable due to lack of proper documentation and breach of the procurement processes which shows that the money was meant for swindling and no genuine project was done to justify its payment.

However, one of the businessmen(name withheld) has refused to hear anything from the Governor and has vowed to use all means possible to force the Governor to pay the money including sabotaging his agenda to serve the people of Kilifi.

"WE will make sure Mung'aro knows no peace in this county until he pays our money first before anything else,we will use all means possible to make sure he is frustrated and doesn't deliver anything to the people of Kilifi,"said the furious businessman who owns several companies including one by the name Mediscope which was reportedly paid THREE TIMES even after doing a single project during Kingi's tenure with further investigations showing that indeed Mediscope has been under investigations by the EACC and the file has consent to arrest the said rogue businessman for dishonest, receiving THREE payments for one job.

Another company by the name Vikram is also in the mix of FAKE pending bills that is on the desk of the Auditor-General which is accused of fraudulently acquiring tenders from the previous regime in every department and delivering air at the end of the day.The directors of the company are highly connected individuals and they have desperately tried all means possible to force Mung'aro to pay them their ill-gotten money including forcing a secretary general of a certain popular party to threaten the Governor with an impeachment motion if he wouldn't give in to their demands.

The Governor seems to be  unshaken by their noise and sounds keen to do the right thing of making sure money meant for developments is not looted by afew individuals at the expense of the majority tax-paying people of Kilifi.

"I will not tolerate corruption in my government,it is better for you to take poison than to steal money belonging to the people of Kilifi,"said the Governor while stressing the need for accountability on the usage of money meant for developments in the drought-stricken county.

It is yet to be seen who will blink first between the Governor and the purpoted rogue Businessmen who claim to have the EACC and the Courts  in their pockets and calm the storm that threatens to prolong the suffering of the people of Kilifi due to slow service delivery.
