Kilifi County Governor Hon.Gedion Mungaro jetted back to the country quietly from his oversees trip where he had gone to attend key Health Summits in Dubai that will see Kilifi County revamp and revolutionise the Health and Water sectors in the County. 


During the trip,the much loved Governor was able to meet with several development partners including companies such as PHILLIPS HEALTH (GMBH),SIEMENS HEALTH SERVICES and MENA-Water Engineering Services where several MOUs were signed with an aim to improve access to highly specialized health and water services at affordable costs in the county.


The signed MOUs highlighted key areas of partnerships where the County Government will benefit from provision of computerized Tomography(CT Scan),Ultrasonography and digital X-Ray machines for all Kilifi Hospitals.


The Modern Cancer Center which will be opened by the Governor at Kilifi Referral Hospital received a major boost  whereby it will be equipped to capacity with diagnostic radiology and radiotherapy equipments for cancer patients.


Cardiac patients will also have a reason to smile after  agreements to open and equip the Cardiology Laboratory with a state-of-the-art equipments were put in the MOU that the Governor signed with PHILLIPS.


Discussions with the President of Thumbay University Hospital,Dr.Thumbay Moiden also gave medical practitioners in Kilifi a reason to vote in Mung'aro after agreements were signed to have an exchange programme for proffesionals in areas of Medicine,Surgery and Medical Tourism where medical experts from Dubai will come to Kilifi to train and equip our doctors with the required skills to
operate and maintain the state of the art medical equipments that are expected in the county.


In his(Governor) bid to solve the water problem in Kilifi  especially in areas like Ganze,Magarini,Kilifi South and Malindi as highlighted in his manifesto,he had extensive discussions with MENA-Water Engineering company executives to come up with innovative ways in water and waste water treatment practices that would provide safe,affordable and accessible water free from contamination to Kilifi residents thereby providing a lasting solution to the water problem in Kilifi County.


Other companies that had consultative discussions with the Governor include Fameco,a Healthcare company and Revittal Healthcare whose director Dr.Roneek Vora expressed his gratitude to the Governor for visiting his stand and agreed to co-operate with him for the betterment of health services in Kilifi.


While speaking to the media,Dr.David Mulewa said,"The Governor is keen to ensure he revolutionises the medical sector in Kilifi and this is the beginning of that process,it is indeed a long and tedious journey but we are ready and determined to go through that path in order to have the best Health Services for the people of Kilifi."



The Governor was accompanied by Hon.Martha Koki,MCA Mariakani Ward and Dr.David Mulewa,Chief Officer,Health Services among other members of the Health Committee in Kilifi together with Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani and her entourage.
