MBEYU TO MUNG'ARO:EMPLOY MY RELATIVES OR I'LL CONTINUE FIGHTING YOU.

Kilifi County Women Representative,Hon.Getrude Mbeyu has finally let the cat out of the bag and revealed the truth behind the reasons why she has decided to fight Kilifi Governor,Gedion Mung'aro,her fellow party member in the ODM Party of Kenya,a party that enjoys a huge following in Coast region.

The second time legislator revealed the same while addressing residents in one of her food distribution campaigns in Kilifi North  where she was quoted saying;

"It is true that I've had a misunderstanding with my brother Mung'aro because I am no longer involved in the matters of the county government.It is disheartening for me to see that I am being sidelined in important matters like those of employment of county workers by my good brother.What makes me more angry is the fact that my brother Mung'aro has refused to employ my relatives that I presented to him with the excuse that they are not qualified for the jobs I had asked for my relatives who are jobless and depend on me to offer them jobs."

The legislator had earlier on gone rampant with barrage of accusations on Governor Mung'aro in the month during a ThanksGiving ceremony of Kilifi County Deputy Governor,Flora Chibule,about the modus operandi of activities at the county government that not only shocked their acquaintances but also their opponents as well.

Many had wondered what might have happened betweeen the Governor and her Women Representative that caused the rift since they are known to be very good friends,having been very close during and after the campaigns,but the revelation by the MP herself now clears the air beyond reasonable doubt on the reasons behind the rift between the two leaders.

Word in town has it that the legislator is a well known nepotist,having employed majority of her relatives in her office,located in the outskirts of Kilifi Town.Her sister works at the office as her Personal Assistant and her daughter as the Evaluation and Monitoring Officer at the same office while other relatives are working in different capacities in the same office,locking majority of qualified Kilifi residents from working in her office which is serviced by tax-payers money.

"I dont have any problem with Mung'aro,if he employs my people in the said capacities,because,first,I gave him two names to consider for ministerial positions,among them my son-in-law and second,I gave him four names to consider for chief officers positions but he didn't employ any of them saying they were not qualified for the positions that's why I became furious with him and decided that,as long as he does not employ them,then he should expect more attacks from me and my camp,"said the short,plump leader who loves wearing golden necklaces on her neck.

However,despite all the rantings witnessed from the legislator,the Governor seems unperturbed by her antics and is busy concentrating on working for his people while branding her as a non-issue while stressing that the problems of the people of Kilifi are his priorities.

Reached out for comment on the ongoing feud,a close confidant of the Governor who sought anonymity had this to say,"Mbeyu cannot have her cake and eat it,she cannot bulldoze the Governor and get away with it just like that,let her get the right documents for her relatives before they are considered for jobs at the county government,the county government does not employ people because they are connected to any leader,it employs people because they are qualified for the job,so Mbeyu should stop being myopic and concentrate on the work she was given by the people of Kilifi,attacking the Governor on baseless claims wont help her at all.She is biting more than she can chew and this will affect her political career in the long run because you cannot cut the hand that feeds you and expect everything to be rosy."

However,it is yet to be seen if the Governor will give in to the demands of the legislator and employ her relatives in order to mend fences with her colleague in ODM and avoid  tearing apart the once good relationship they have enjoyed for a long time between them and cool the political temperatures that seem to distract service delivery to the people of Kilifi if things remain the way they are.
